  • We are seeking an experienced Information Technology Computer Security and Information Protection Specialist, to be based in Williamtown NSW.
  • The Information Technology Computer Security and Information Protection specialist for the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) E-7 Wedgetail Ground Support Segments capability is responsible as part of a team for evaluating computing and information security risks, threats and vulnerabilities.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop skills and understanding in a wide variety of technologies with typical responsibilities involving :

  • Ensuring data and Security integrity at all times.
  • Work as part of a team responsible for implementation of information security requirements, policies, standards, guidelines and procedures for the Wedgetail Ground Support Segments team.
  • Evaluates and responds to emerging security issues.
  • Evaluates capability risk/gaps and takes and/or coordinates action to meet objectives.
  • Analyses and documents computing security events, and identifies root causes, prioritises threats and recommends and/or implements corrective action.
  • Performs security compliance monitoring and participates in security policy assessments and audits IAW the Information Security Manual (ISM).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian defence security framework under the Defence Security Authority (DSA) and the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD).
  • Security focused IT system administrator support of Wedgetail Ground Support Segments, comprising of various development, testing, and production environments. This includes, but is not limited

Unix/Linux client and Server systems

Familiarity with Solaris Client-Server systems.

Network connectivity and configuration

Windows Client-server systems.

Support and maintenance of in-house hardware/software systems.

Uphold and comply with program change management policies and processes

To be successful you will have :

A desire to learn and work as part of a dynamic team supporting a diverse range of technology
Technical bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience / certificate level IT qualification or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to obtain a Security Clearance – The preferred applicant will be required to successfully undergo the security clearance vetting process at the SECRET NEGATIVE VETTING 1 level. The preferred applicant MUST be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and MUST have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the precedingFive years.
